The Kampmann Group stands for innovative, sustainable solutions in heating, cooling, and ventilation technology. Our sustainability strategy focuses on moving away from fossil fuels through the use of renewable energy and thus on the transformation of the building sector. We rely on resource-conserving products and transparent environmental declarations.
In order to bring our own emissions to net zero by 2037, we are currently developing a sound action plan. Our social convictions include fair working conditions and strong inclusion of people with disabilities at our main site and in our supply chain. In this way, we shape future-viable corporate management that combines ecological and social responsibility with economic success.

We manage our activities in our material sustainability topics in interdisciplinary teams. Around 20 employees contribute their expertise in four workstreams, collect data, and implement measures.

What do the artificial climate in rooms and the natural climate in the world – and both together have to do with Kampmann? Find out here.
In the Product & Value Chain workstream, we focus intensively on sector-specific sustainability aspects as well as the ecological issues in our upstream and downstream supply chain. A particular concern for us is the decarbonized operation of buildings. What matters here is the consistent expansion of renewable energy for the sustainable operation of heat pumps as generators of heat and cooling.

Introduction of CO2-reduced aluminum cover grilles for trench technology
Conversion of all KaClima heat pumps to natural R290 refrigerant by 2030
With our systems for the heating transition, we make a contribution to the transformation of the building sector. What used to be an oil or gas heating system is now a heat pump or another system that tempers system water using as little fossil energy as possible. In the room, one of our many products is used depending on the requirements, provided it is suitable for these so-called low-temperature systems. This means that a large part of the heating system remains familiar to the installing trade.
With Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), we want to promote expertise for sustainable building. EPDs enable a detailed recording and assessment of the environmental impacts of products throughout their entire life cycle. This creates transparency and provides valuable foundations for customers' ecological product choices.
Rising outdoor temperatures are increasingly creating the desire or the necessity for building cooling as an adaptation to climate change. Whether in office or industrial workplaces, in supermarkets or in one’s own home, as well as for the protection of vulnerable groups. The resulting increase in energy demand is a paradox and a challenge of our time. Efficient cooling systems that cool rooms on the basis of cold water play an important role. Here too, it is often the heat pump that provides this cold water for Kampmann room units.
In the Infrastructure & Production workstream, we bundle comprehensive measures to reduce emissions, increase energy efficiency, and protect the environment at our sites. Continuous improvement of data quality for sound decisions plays a central role in this.

With the project „Path to Net Zero“, we are right in the middle of developing a comprehensive climate protection concept to achieve climate neutrality in our own activities (Scopes 1 and 2). But defining a climate target is not a hasty commitment for us. We want to do it right. That is why we are taking the time, analyzing, observing, and planning measures. We will publish our Path to Net Zero here.
With our certified environmental management system (EN ISO 14001 [Certificate]), we demonstrate that environmental protection and sustainable action are an explicit part of our corporate policy. It covers numerous topics from areas such as climate protection, resource flows, and waste. The system is based on internal interviews and external audits, which can uncover environmental behavior in our activities that is in need of improvement. If necessary, this is followed by the strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of countermeasures.
Our energy management plays a central role in the sustainable and efficient use of resources. It enables us to examine the use of different energy sources and their contribution to the overall energy mix. The overarching strategy is, on the one hand, to reduce the share of fossil energy sources and, at the same time, to drive the expansion of renewable energy. The measures pursue a targeted reduction of CO₂ emissions in order to ensure a sustainable energy supply in the long term and protect the environment. Our energy management system is certified according to EN ISO 50001 [Certificate]).
The Kampmann Group is a family-run company. As such, employees are recognized as the foundation of entrepreneurial action and success. At 4.9%, the turnover rate is at a pleasingly low level. The fact that many employees identify with the company is demonstrated by an approval rate of 81% in corresponding surveys. The long-service anniversaries of employees also show this success.
The introduction of a knowledge management system is in preparation. The focus is on safeguarding siloed knowledge. It is of central importance for the Kampmann Group, as the knowledge and skills of employees make a significant contribution to maintaining competitiveness and to the company’s success. The knowledge management system can serve as guidance for new and young employees and thus maintain the efficiency of processes.
At the Lingen site, we have introduced occupational health management (OHM) and established a dedicated OHM team. There is active exchange with the other company sites regarding the experiences of the OHM team. However, an expansion of the management system to other sites is also under review.
We set high standards for our Business Conduct, that is, our entrepreneurial behavior, in matters of law and responsibility. We manage our lawful conduct with a compliance management system. For us, responsibility means, on the one hand, due diligence for good working conditions in our upstream supply chain and the inclusion of people with disabilities.
