Warm rooms, condensation-free windows

With Katherm NK, you can ensure warm rooms and condensation-free glass facades at the same time. The trench convector uses natural convection to effectively provide cold air screening for window surfaces and prevent condensation from forming, while pleasantly heating the entire room. Ideal for buildings with large glazed areas without visible radiators.

Wide range of variants

The wide selection of sizes offers a suitable solution for every project. Depending on the installation situation, the trench is complemented by a color-coordinated grille and a matching frame edge, creating maximum flexibility in planning. Removable end pieces make it possible to create continuous trench runs that blend harmoniously with the facade.

Various heights are available, as well as a wide selection of performance-differentiated widths and lengths.

Custom-made solutions

Custom-made solutions are possible for any building architecture with individual geometries. This applies to the trench and the grille. Possible examples include:

Short installation time

The valve connection enables quick and easy installation of Katherm NK on site. In addition, height adjustment screws supplied as standard and tread-resistant height adjustment feet are included to further reduce installation time and thus costs.

Protection during installation and construction

Our Katherm trench technology products are carefully packed in cardboard packaging for transport. The grille edge trim profiles are protected against damage by green plastic profiles. A sustainable paper cover prevents dust and dirt from entering.

As the units are often installed in the building at an early construction stage, the grille can be replaced at the factory with a wooden installation cover for their protection for an additional charge. The grilles are then supplied separately packed.

Technical features

Cold air screening

  • Cold air screening and residual heat coverage are provided specifically by utilizing the special property of natural convection.
  • The convector transfers the heat of the water to the room air, which then rises along the window side, effectively screens the cold glass surface and thus prevents the windows from fogging up.

Introduction of primary air

  • Primary air or fresh air is introduced into the rooms via special supply air ducts.
  • The Katherm supply air duct ZL is available for numerous Katherm trench technology units.
  • This is a duct, which can be attached to the respective Katherm units.

Life cycle assessment data (EPD)

  • We assess the environmental impact of our products across their entire life cycle („cradle to cradle“) and publish the results transparently in our Environmental Product Declarations (EPD).
  • These EPDs can be easily integrated into leading building certification systems such as DGNB, BREEAM, or LEED and are available in the download section.

Static heating requirements

  • Rooms with relatively static heating requirements, such as corridors, hotel lobbies, conservatories, or living rooms, are particularly suitable for the use of Katherm NK.
  • The performance-optimized Perimeter Heating units in low-temperature and heat pump operation enable an energy-saving operating mode, keeping operating costs at a low level.

No noise emissions

  • Katherm NK operates without a fan, purely with natural convection.
  • This makes it particularly suitable for installation in noise-sensitive application areas.
